I am a professor of sociology and social historian at Saint Louis University in Missouri, USA. With a focus on social unrest, race, ethnic relations, and cities, I aim to advance knowledge and understanding in these areas. My upcoming book, 'Democracy and Disconsent: Liberalism and Illiberalism in Ferguson, Charlottesville, Black Lives Matter, and Capitol Insurrection,' explores the challenges and opportunities facing American democracy.
